Impact Tours

Do you wish to learn more about local Hondurans and how to support them? Adelante can arrange client site visits so that you can see firsthand how microfinance provides women resources needed to start and grow enterprises. Chose an experience that ranges from a half day up to seven days, overlap with Adelante staff or choose a guided experience. You can meet our Adelante staff in La Ceiba or staff at one of our other branch offices, travel to rural villages, and visit women with thriving businesses. Enjoy nearby jungles, the ocean (Roatan is only a 1.5 hour ferry ride from La Ceiba, Adelante Foundation headquarters), and explore the Cangrejal River area. This unique experience provides visitors a deeper understanding of our microfinance model, the work we do to alleviate poverty, while also enjoying other sites of interest.

Option to add Adelante to an existing trip itinerary includes:

•  Recommendations on nearby accommodations and ground transportation
•  Adelante representative meets you at agreed upon location and facilitates client site visits
•  Informational session on cultural norms and etiquette

Five- and seven-day Adelante guided trips includes:

• In-country transportation
• Lodging
• Meals
• Interpretation services, as needed
• Tips for meals, guides, and drivers

Guided trips do not include:

• Airfare
• Passport/visa fees (please note US citizens do not need to pay visa fee)
• Vaccinations
• Travel insurance International health insurance
• Alcohol

Adelante’s next week long Impact Tour will take place in February 2025 beginning in San Pedro Sula and concluding in Roatan. We require a minimum of three people for guided trips. Going to Roatan, but wish to add 1-3 day trip to Rio Cangrehal? We offer short trips to the mainland with 1/2 day impact tour options and remaining time in jungle.
