Flooding the Streets for Justice in Honduras

Peaceful marches are transpiring all across Honduras this week to call for justice. Excitement flooded the streets of La Ceiba last night as masses of Hondurans from all walks of life came out to voice their human rights. Multigenerational families, students, teachers, doctors, religious groups, and everyday citizens rallied with lanterns and torches from the old harbor to the city center, culminating in celebration with traditional music and dance.

A family comes together to express their orgullo catracho, or Honduran pride. The true sentiment of the march was unity and free expression.

Traditional Honduran drumming, song, and dance filled the streets of Ceiba.

Citizens held homemade torches to represent bringing light to corruption. Here a makeshift torch carries a loving message.

During the march groups stated, “Adelante, Adelante, la lucha es constante!” or “Onward, Onward, the fight endures!” Just as we constantly advocate for the entrepreneurial women of Adelante to improve their lives, we are proud to see Hondurans coming together for a better nation.
