BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Lindsey has deep ties to Honduras through family and has spent extensive time in the country. She joined the Adelante board in 2018 and is based in Chicago. She serves as a Senior Specialist at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, managing a portfolio of global technical assistance projects. Previously, she worked with HOPE International, leading their data analytics team, and with Esperanza International in the Dominican Republic, where she oversaw Risk & Compliance. Lindsey's experience also includes forensic accounting at PwC and financial consulting for the State Department's HIV/AIDS relief program. She holds a bachelor's in finance and Spanish from the University of Virginia and a Master's in Public Policy with a focus on international development from the University of Chicago. She is honored to contribute to Adelante's mission.
Rich has been an Adelante supporter since its inception, when he first visited Honduras with founder, Tony Stone, and a college peer. He joined the Adelante Board of Directors in 2016. Rich recently retired as Senior Vice President of Human Resources at VMware, based in Palo Alto, California. Prior to that, he lived in Helsinki, Finland, where he led Human Resources for Nokia’s Smart Devices Business Unit. His earlier career included roles at Sun Microsystems in Menlo Park, California. Rich holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Management. In his free time, he enjoys singing baritone with the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, traveling, reconnecting with lifelong friends, and tackling endless projects on his 100+ year-old home.
Janet has supported Adelante since its inception and joined the Board of Directors in 2016. A Bay Area native, Janet currently resides in San Francisco. She previously served as Regional Sales Director for Elle Decor and House Beautiful magazines and more recently served as Account Executive at iHeart Media, returning to her roots in radio advertising. Janet has also been active in other nonprofit boards, serving several years on the Board of Directors for the Edgewood Center for Children and Families as Auxiliary President. An avid tennis player, she competes in leagues across the Bay Area.
Gina is a nonprofit professional based in New York City with a BA in International Relations from SUNY New Paltz. From 2012 to 2015, she worked with Adelante in La Ceiba, Honduras, focusing on development and social impact initiatives. After several years working in Latin America, Gina returned to the U.S. in 2017. Her work since has centered on programs serving survivors of domestic violence, particularly at the intersection of affordable housing and financial empowerment. She also volunteers annually as a tax preparer with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Gina is excited to support Adelante’s mission and growth.
David was born in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and moved to Central America at an early age. He spent his teenage years in La Ceiba, Honduras, with the founder of Adelante and has a deep connection and respect for the people of Honduras. David is the Director of Latin America for Seafresh Group, an international seafood business that processes shrimp and other premium shellfish which are supplied to outlets worldwide. He oversees procurement of quality products spanning Chile, Argentina, and Louisiana. Specializing in integrated supply chains, David ensures fulfillment adherence to stringent social and environmental standards, so that both society and the environment benefit. David lives in Guatemala City with his family.
John became a believer in micro-finance through his friendship with Kim and Tony Stone. John was an early supporter of Adelante and became a board member in 2006. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area where he oversees information technology for an international asset management company and is chairman of a clean-combustion R&D firm. He has degrees in Chemical Engineering and Theology.
Becky joined Adelante's Board of Directors in 2023 after visiting Honduras. Based in the Washington, DC area, Becky's interest in microfinance began during a study abroad program in Bangladesh, where she visited Grameen Bank, and while interning with Esperanza International in the Dominican Republic. Becky currently works for International Justice Mission (IJM), a global human rights organization combating violence against people in poverty across 21 countries. Previously, she was a Management Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She holds a B.S. in Commerce with a minor in Global Sustainability from the University of Virginia. Originally from Richmond, VA, Becky enjoys biking, drinking tea, and practicing Spanish with anyone who will listen.
Richard is a seasoned trial lawyer with over 40 years of experience in state and federal courts. A graduate of Cleveland State University (J.D., cum laude), his practice spans aviation law, products liability, contractual disputes, and wrongful death actions, among other areas. A licensed pilot with single-engine, multi-engine, and instrument ratings. Mr. Musat has extensive expertise in aviation-related litigation. He has served as lead counsel in federal multi-district cases involving catastrophic air disasters and has defended numerous wrongful death and injury actions for major EMS helicopter operators across the U.S. After years of philanthropic work in Honduras, Mr. Musat joined Adelante’s Board in 2018 to further support its mission.
Tony grew up in La Ceiba, Honduras and graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, earning multiple design awards along the way. Notably, he designed and built a functioning two-man submarine now displayed at the San Francisco Maritime Museum on Pier 39. After Stanford, Tony pursued a career in design and aerospace, working with companies such as McDonnell Douglas, Northrop Grumman, Keiser Marquart, and Aerojet. In 1999, moved by the devastation of Hurricane Mitch, Tony returned to Honduras and founded the Adelante Foundation. As a board member, Tony is honored to support his beloved country by leveraging his technical and management expertise.
Sue brings extensive expertise in financial management and business leadership to the Adelante Board. A former CPA, she specialized in business tax planning and consulting before transitioning to her current role as majority owner, President, and CEO of Silco Oil Co, where she has worked for over 20 years. Sue also serves as treasurer for Colorado Heritage Camps, a nonprofit that fosters belonging and community for adoptees and their families through annual camps. A supporter of Adelante for over a decade, Sue participated in an Impact Tour in 2023, witnessing firsthand the transformative power of empowering vulnerable women with resources to achieve economic self-sufficiency.

Adelante’s Advisors are trusted professionals and thought leaders from diverse fields, including finance, nonprofit management, social impact, and global development. They provide specialized counsel on critical issues, helping us navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and refine our strategies to maximize our impact.
Jerry lives in Roatán, Honduras, and has a long-standing connection to the country, beginning with his service as a Peace Corps Volunteer on the northern coast in the 1980s. After a 22-year career at Boeing, he retired as Manager for Design for Workplace Environment Health and Safety (EHS). He led EHS teams in the U.S. and globally, supporting Boeing C-17 Globemaster operations in Australia, Hungary, India, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, and the UK. Jerry is deeply involved in charitable work. He serves as Board Chairman for Set Free Ministries, providing Bible instruction courses to incarcerated individuals across the U.S. He has supported this mission for over 25 years. He also chairs the board of the Roatán Vocational Training Center, which equips locals with skills to secure better employment opportunities. Additionally, Jerry co-founded the Titus House Transitional Living program, offering housing and mentorship for individuals in recovery with the aim of helping participants sustain positive changes. Jerry has been instrumental in supporting Adelante’s expansion to Roatán, and will soon be leading financial literacy workshops for vulnerable people on the island.
Dick is a retired CPA who focused on taxation and mergers and acquisitions. Dick graduated in 1969 from the University of Colorado with a B. S. in Business Administration. Upon graduation he spent 2 1/2 years in Peru with the Peace Corps working as a business advisor to agricultural cooperatives. With a lifelong commitment to alleviating poverty, Dick has traveled to Honduras over 50 times, and brought his wife of over 50 years, daughter, and grandchildren to the country. Dick has served in various leadership roles as Treasurer, President, and Chairman of the Adelante Board. He is an Ally of Adelante Award recipient in 2022 and continues to volunteer, advise, and advocate for the beneficiaries of Adelante programs. Dick is also a longstanding member of the Denver Cherry Creek Rotary Club, and Treasurer of the Escuela de Guadalupe.
Maria is a former board member and the Global Director of Sales Administration Operations at Advantest Inc., where she oversees a global team managing sales and business forecasting, process optimization, order processing, accounts receivable, and audit compliance. With nearly 20 years of experience in the semiconductor and electronic manufacturing test industry, Maria has developed flexible business models to meet the needs of a dynamic global customer base. Before Advantest, she led Global Business Centers for the Automated Test Group at Agilent Technologies (formerly Hewlett Packard), later rebranded as Verigy. Originally from La Ceiba, Honduras, Maria’s career has taken her across Asia, Latin America, and Europe, though she has proudly called Denver home for 20 years. She is a graduate of Berea College with a degree in Industrial Technology Management. Maria continues to advise Adelante staff on a regular basis.
