René Licona -
Executive Director
René comes to Adelante with eleven years of microfinance experience in Honduras after working for FUNED (Foundation for the Development of Honduras) and CARE International. René is excited about Adelante's education department and views it as a strength that we should capitalize on in order to retain clients. Business training was offered to clients in other organizations where he worked, but this is the first time René has seen an education department that offered topics of personal interest to the clients such as health and human rights. The world of microfinance has become quite competitive and René would like to see us expand the services we offer in order to reinforce our clients' loyalty to Adelante |

Manfredo Reyes –
Director of Administration
Born and raised in La Ceiba, Honduras, Manfredo has a graduate degree in Agricultural Economy and Finances and has worked for three different corporations and as university professor. Of his work with Adelante he says, ‘I feel happy to work for the Adelante Foundation. This is an organization with the vision of God, to help the poorest women in Honduras. With this quest, we will help generations of people from my country.” |

Sandra Moncada -
Director of Education
As the Director of Education, Sandra's main objective is to empower women through education. Sandra was born in La Ceiba, Honduras, and has been with the Adelante Foundation for three years. She is licensed in Business Administrative Systems, with a Masters in Education and Common Development. Last year she participated in a six-month international education program financed by the University of Georgetown. She has twelve years of experience working with organizations with a social vision. |

Oscar Meija –
Director of Operations
A native of Tela, Honduras, Oscar has been married for eight years and is the father of two children, a girl and a boy. Oscar feels blessed to be able to give Adelante’s clients opportunities that they have never before been able to access. Oscar says, “Seeing the positive changes that are achieved in the lives of Adelante’s clients and families is the best part of the job. Three years ago, I started at the Adelante Foundation. I believe, to continue to achieve the success we have enjoyed, the fundamental thing is to put our hearts into our work.” |

Mike Wiesner -
International Director of Development
Following a year living and working as a volunteer with Adelante in Honduras, Mike decided to make a change from the corporate world. He and his wife, Michelle, left Honduras to return to Colorado and begin operations in the U.S. as Director of Development. Mike's passion for the women who Adelante helps and his experience in sales and marketing bring a dynamic energy to this new states-side structure. |

Sophia M. Anderson -
International Development Coordinator
A native of Illinois, Sophia moved to Honduras in February of 2000, eager to learn Spanish and explore the luscious tropical nature in the surrounding area. With her MS in Plant Biology she initially volunteered as a biological research assistant and spent a great deal of time exploring the Honduran countryside and getting to know some of the cheerful and unassuming people in the rural communities there. She was moved by how content they were, given their extreme poverty. While she enjoyed her last eight years teaching high school sciences in an American school in La Ceiba, she was delighted when her current position became available in the spring of 2008. She is happy to have the opportunity to work with Adelante and help this underprivileged population to improve their lives. She lives in La Ceiba with her husband, Patrick and son, Sergio. |

Lindsey Daly -
Development Coordinator - US Operations
In 2005, Lindsey had the unique experience of visiting rural communities supported by Fundación Adelante in Honduras. In 2007, she became fully immersed in Adelante's mission as the development team project manager and administrative specialist, coordinating contributions, reporting, and bookkeeping needs. She lives in Denver with her husband, Trevor, and son, Evan. |

Katherine H. D. Karr -
Development Assistant - U.S. Operations
After working for the Adelante Foundation as a Development Intern during the summer of 2008, Katie has happily stayed on with the team as their new Development Assistant. She is currently working on gaining a MA in International Human Rights with a concentration in Political Economy from the University of Denver and hopes to gain a position in an international NGO after graduation. She lives in Denver with her husband, David. |

Andrea Hidalgo -
Development Intern
Andrea is originally from Seattle, Washington but has been living in Colorado for the past 5 years. She has been an intern at the Adelante Foundation since June 2008, and has really enjoyed learning about microfinance and how it has helped woman in Honduras. Andrea is currently working towards a Master's degree in Nonprofit Management at Regis University. |
